With some friends of mine.
I got the first order - 35k for colored couple art with a background.
My art has never been sold for more than 5k, at the most.
So I jumped.
I was given a totally unmatching avatar as the main piece and then an avatar cosplaying as Light Yagami from Death Note.
they didn't fit well together AT ALL.
She wanted some stereotypical emo pose and a 'gloomy' background with her boyfriend or whatever COMFORTING her in a hug.
So, I drew it.
He had a smile on his face because when I think comforting hugs, I think of them smiling in hopes to cheer the person up, not all gloom and doom 'lets make a murder-suicide pact' kind of shit.
I do a crazy background, since I've never done one before and i don't have any fancy art programs like all of you other folks.
I send her the hart, accept the trade, get in trouble for being on the computer to finish the art [since she gave me a deadline. -_-].
She sends me a message saying, 'Can you get rid of his smile? I don't like it. It doesn't work for the gloomy picture. I'd remove it myself, but you never told me the color you used.'

"I'm sorry, I think the smile works. I don't like altering my work after I receive payment for it. I gave you what you requested from me."
Her : Well his smile doesn't fit. What color did you use so I can remove it? And I wouldn't have given you payment but you weren't online.

Sooooo~ I'm refraining myself from replying because I'm afraid to go off on her.
It's called putting your trust in the artist and taking what you paid for, and what you asked for.
No last minute 'OH WAIT I WANT TO TOTALLY CHANGE IT LOL'
Especially after I stayed up until 4 in the fucking morning sketching you a stupid ass pose based on a reference picture the size of my thumb.
